Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kenji Hashimoto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason Shields!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hashimoto shoots in but Shields avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Hashimoto throws a series of punches but Shields moves out of range.
An inside leg kick lands from Hashimoto.

Shields gets caught flat footed, as Hashimoto shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Shields throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Hashimoto drops back, looking for a kneebar! Shields looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Shields looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Shields!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hashimoto tries to bench press Shields off him but Shields keeps the position.

Shields is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hashimoto is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Hashimoto is working to avoid the ground and pound but Shields connects with a decent elbow.

Shields thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Shields tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Shields has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Shields working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Hashimoto wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Hashimoto wants to control but Shields postures up.

Shields has hold of Hashimoto's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Hashimoto seems comfortable defending it but Shields has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Hashimoto is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Hashimoto is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Shields couldn't care less - he's delighted!
