PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Andrei Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and God Zilla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). God Zilla struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 171.1lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Emelianenko shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
You get the feeling that Zilla really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Emelianenko is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Zilla has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Emelianenko goes for an armbar but Zilla turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Zilla.

Emelianenko changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Zilla looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Emelianenko is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Zilla knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Emelianenko connects with a nice short shot to Zilla's temple.

Zilla really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Emelianenko. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Zilla's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
