Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, George Francis and Wesley Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paako sizes up Task with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Task ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Paako moves away.
Paako shoots in for a double leg but Task sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
A clash of legs there as Task blocks the low kick.

Paako closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Task did well to prevent Paako getting side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Paako wants to work for an arm triangle but Task is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Task pushes Paako off looking to stand but Paako dives back in and keeps control.
Task tries to get to full guard but Paako has control of the leg.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
