PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jos Mykhaylenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yurij Zhideev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mykhaylenko has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zhideev fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Zhideev shoots in looking for a takedown but Mykhaylenko manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Zhideev's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Mykhaylenko moves in looking to clinch but Zhideev pushes him off.
The fight stays on the outside here - Mykhaylenko looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
A swing and a miss from Zhideev.
Mykhaylenko shoots in for a double leg but Zhideev sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Zhideev misses the body punch
and Mykhaylenko counters with an inside leg kick.
Zhideev takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Mykhaylenko throws a right hand that Zhideev ducks under and follows up with a left that Zhideev also avoids with ease.
Mykhaylenko lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Zhideev circles away quickly and effectively.
Mykhaylenko tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Mykhaylenko gets caught napping as Zhideev dives in and scores a takedown. Mykhaylenko manages to retain guard.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Zhideev keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Mykhaylenko's head.
Zhideev distracts Mykhaylenko with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Zhideev is looking to stand up but Mykhaylenko isn't so interested in that idea.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Zhideev can do anything to dispel that myth.
Zhideev is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Mykhaylenko is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Zhideev with him. Zhideev is trying to defend but Mykhaylenko has an arm under the chin now! Zhideev grimaces and is forced to tap out!
