Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Ian Loll and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves misses with a two punch combination.
Alves listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Alves takes a swing at Sanchez's ribcage but misses.
Alves misses with a body shot.
Sanchez throws a hook to the side of Alves's head but Alves sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Alves on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Alves throws an overhand right that lands on Sanchez's shoulder, as Sanchez tries to avoid the shot.
Sanchez scores with a sloppy right hand. Alves should have avoided that one.
Sanchez misses with an uppercut.
A slow jab from Sanchez misses its intended target.
Alves closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Sanchez uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Alves.
Alves shoots in for a takedown but Sanchez shows good takedown defense.
Sanchez lets loose with a powerful body kick. Alves will feel that in the morning.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sanchez looks to score with a jab to the body but Alves is just out of range.
Sanchez throws a nice outside leg kick.
Sanchez lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Sanchez is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Alves looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Diego Sanchez is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Alves lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Sanchez throws a head kick that misses.
Alves avoids a kick to the body.
Sanchez lands a leg kick that knocks Alves off balance momentarily.
Alves tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sanchez was well out of range. Poor timing from Alves.
Alves avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Sanchez moves out of range of the strikes.
Alves catches Sanchez with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Alves scores with a leg kick.
A looping hook to the body misses from Alves. Sanchez does a little dance to reset his feet.
Sanchez throws the left hand but Alves avoids the punch easily.
Sanchez pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Alves closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Alves lands in his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Alves in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Alves wants to control from the top but Sanchez keeps moving.
Alves working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Alves won't allow Sanchez to sweep him here.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sanchez is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Alves missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Alves throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Sanchez works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Sanchez keeping full guard, as Alves tries to pass.
Sanchez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Sanchez is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Alves swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Sanchez scores with a push kick.
Sanchez sizes up Alves with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Good work by Alves as he checks the leg kick.

Sanchez throws a sloppy head kick and Alves moves out of range easily.

and Sanchez counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Alves gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Sanchez gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

A very excited looking Diego Sanchez made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
