Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Steven Shields (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pierre St George (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). St George is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Beautiful People. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shields tries to keep at a distance but St George has taken the fight into the clinch.
Shields looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
St George tries to land a knee to the head but Shields blocks with his arms.

St George has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Shields uses from the top position.

Shields throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! St George escapes and throws Shields's legs to the side, diving into side control!
St George wants to lay and pray for a moment but Shields keeps working.

St George looks up at the clock and then as Shields takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, St George smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Shields is looking for a sweep.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

St George decides to stand back up. St George steps back and let's Shields get back to his feet.

Pierre St George showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

St George is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
St George's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
St George has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

St George got a little sloppy there for a moment and Shields has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, St George has managed to get both his arms back between Shields's legs - danger averted.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

St George tries to close the distance and clinch but Shields swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

St George feints a jab promting Shields to slip. St George then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Shields slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Well St George has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
