Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cy Coe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Makao Matsumoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Coe's entrance music is Insane In The Membrane - Cypress Hill. A fine choice. Matsumoto has chosen Sepultura - Territory as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

With a record of 16 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Makao Matsumoto!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coe tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Matsumoto was well out of range. Poor timing from Coe.
Matsumoto moves out of range of the leg kick from Coe.
Cy Coe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Coe throws a body kick that misses.
Coe fails with the takedown
and Matsumoto makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Matsumoto feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Coe got a little sloppy there for a moment and Matsumoto has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Coe has managed to get both his arms back between Matsumoto's legs - danger averted.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Matsumoto has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Coe can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Coe throws a hook to the side of Matsumoto's head but Matsumoto sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Matsumoto lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
A looping hook to the body misses from Coe. Matsumoto does a little dance to reset his feet.
Coe takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Coe fails with a takedown attempt.
Matsumoto tests Coe's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Coe is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Matsumoto.
Coe connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Matsumoto changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Coe looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Matsumoto goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Coe has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Matsumoto but great work by Coe.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Coe connects with a nice short shot to Matsumoto's temple.
