PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rich Castellano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Krissu Krissi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Castellano might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Kenny Loggins - Danger Zone. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Krissi tries to clinch there but Castellano circles away.
Krissi wants to clinch up but Castellano keeps it at a distance.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Krissi is defended easily by Castellano.

Castellano drives through with a takedown into guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Castellano lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Castellano has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Castellano avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Castellano stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Krissi swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Castellano uses his free foot to push down on Krissi's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Krissi.

Castellano takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Krissi tries to reverse the position but Castellano maintains control.
Castellano is landing with some decent strikes but Krissi is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Castellano seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Krissi for as long as he can get away with.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Castellano leaves Krissi with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
