Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Changtupa Damtea!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nopparat Somchaimy!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Shigeki Sano and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Somchaimy - that will leave a mark!
Somchaimy lands a nice hook to Damtea's body. Damtea takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Somchaimy fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Damtea, pushing him back against the cage.
Somchaimy crunches a lovely knee into Damtea's ribcage.
Somchaimy landing knees to the head.
Damtea wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Somchaimy has him pressed against the cage.
Somchaimy landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Somchaimy breaks the clinch.
Damtea misses with a takedown
and Somchaimy counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Damtea is breathing heavily.
Somchaimy lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Damtea walks into a stiff left hand from Somchaimy.
Somchaimy drops Damtea with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Damtea looks back up at him and smiles so Somchaimy waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
It looks like Changtupa Damtea has been cut.
Damtea takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Somchaimy, right into the meat.
Somchaimy thumps Damtea with a low kick.
Somchaimy cracks Damtea with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Somchaimy has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Damtea to stand back up!
Damtea is rocked!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Somchaimy cracks Damtea's jaw with two stiff jabs then ducks low and throws a soul-severing right uppercut to the mouth!! Damtea slumps to the ground with blood on his lips. The referee steps in before Somchaimy can do further damage! This one is done, son!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:08 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Nopparat Somchaimy!
