The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schmellengartner tries to clinch up.

Schmellengartner moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Oh Schmellengartner is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Piesci tries to keep at a distance but Schmellengartner has taken the fight into the clinch.
Schmellengartner seems to have got his legs back now.
Schmellengartner is pushing Piesci up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Piesci dodges an elbow strike from Schmellengartner.

Piesci breaks from the clinch.
Piesci catches Schmellengartner with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Piesci misses with a looping left.
Piesci throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Schmellengartner fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Piesci, pushing him back against the cage.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Schmellengartner pushes off an throws an elbow but Piesci leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Piesci lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Schmellengartner backwards.

Schmellengartner is breathing heavily.

Piesci pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Piesci ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Schmellengartner looks to throw the jab but Piesci is out of range.
Piesci looks to land a combination. Schmellengartner sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Donk. Piesci catches Schmellengartner right on the button with a cross.
Piesci lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Schmellengartner at a distance.
Schmellengartner throws a low kick but Piesci avoids it.
Schmellengartner takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Piesci comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Piesci scores with a hook to the body. Schmellengartner takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Piesci lands a jab to Schmellengartner's midsection.
Schmellengartner tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Piesci manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Schmellengartner throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.

Piesci feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Schmellengartner sprawling to the canvas! Schmellengartner rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Piesci finish him?!

It looks like Frenk Schmellengartner has been cut.
