The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kutts closes the distance but Watermelon moves to the side

and Watermelon counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Kutts's guard now.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Watermelon sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Kutts's guard.
Kutts is staying active underneath Watermelon, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Still in half guard, Watermelon seems content to control.
Watermelon works his way into side control.

Watermelon has hold of Kutts's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Kutts tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Watermelon cranks the arm and Kutts screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Kutts, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
