The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Ricci or perhaps it was just good defense by Vaghi which made him look bad.

and Ricci counters with a single leg into guard. Vaghi didn't expect that.
Vaghi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Vaghi looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Vaghi avoids the head kick by Ricci.
Ivan Vaghi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Ricci counters with a shoot takedown. Vaghi fights it but they end up in guard.
Vaghi is trying to control the position but Ricci postures up.
Ricci not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Ricci is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Vaghi is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Vaghi has escaped and now he's on top!
Vaghi distracts Ricci with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Vaghi wants to control from the top but Ricci keeps moving.
Vaghi stands and throws Ricci's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Ricci wants to control the position but that's not easy when your opponent is in side control! Vaghi seems to be going for some sort of submission here. Hard to say what - oh, it's a Brabo choke! He's got it! Ricci is tapping! Wow, great finish!
