Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between David Mckenzie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bryan Hudson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Hudson's choice of entrance music: Bohemian Rhapsody. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, David Mckenzie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bryan Hudson!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Frank Dennis and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mckenzie changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hudson tries to avoid it but Mckenzie manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hudson to the ground. Hudson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Mckenzie looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Hudson wants to stand and escape but Mckenzie is having none of it.
Mckenzie content to stall in guard here.
Hudson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mckenzie's guard.

Mckenzie's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The ref stands the fighters back up. David Mckenzie wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Hudson fails with an attempt to clinch.
Mckenzie shoots in for a double leg but Hudson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Mckenzie gets a takedown into half guard.
Mckenzie slips a nice elbow through Hudson's hands, connecting with Hudson's forehead.
Hudson is trying to maintain the position but Mckenzie is very close to passing his half guard.
Mckenzie is looking to stall here but Hudson recovers full guard.
Mckenzie is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Hudson scrambles and gets back to his feet.
A shot to the liver by Hudson. Beautiful body shot.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hudson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Hudson wants to sweep here but Mckenzie controlling him for the moment.

Hudson trying to keep a closed guard but Mckenzie is proving a slippery customer.
Hudson wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Mckenzie manages to pass to side control.
Mckenzie is controlling the pace.
Mckenzie stalling away here and it's allowed Hudson to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Hudson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Hudson keeping moving, preventing Mckenzie from controlling successfully.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mckenzie slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Mckenzie lands a few punches from side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


A right-left combo lands from Mckenzie.
Hudson wants to clinch up but Mckenzie keeps it at a distance.
Mckenzie closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hudson circles away.
Hudson swings for the body but Mckenzie moves out of range.

Mckenzie fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hudson sprawls well initially but Mckenzie persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Mckenzie takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Mckenzie seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Hudson is trying to stand.
Mckenzie looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Mckenzie lands strikes from half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ground and pound from Mckenzie.
Mckenzie seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Mckenzie is controlling the pace.
Mckenzie thows a huge punch but Hudson dodges it nicely.
Mckenzie is thwarting Hudson's attempts to control the position.
Mckenzie could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Mckenzie not doing much here.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

We're going to have a standup here because David Mckenzie wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Mckenzie fails with the takedown.
Nice takedown defense from Hudson. No joy for Mckenzie on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David Mckenzie. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nice sprawl there from Hudson as Mckenzie shoots in.
Hudson displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mckenzie.
Bryan Hudson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Hudson tries to close the distance and clinch but Mckenzie swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Hudson misses with a few strikes there.
Hudson wants to clinch up but Mckenzie keeps it at a distance.
Mckenzie walks into a jab.

Hudson moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Hudson scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Hudson misses with the combination.
Mckenzie shoots in for a double leg but Hudson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Bryan Hudson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Hudson lands a left and a right that send Mckenzie crashing to the mat, dazed. Hudson thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Mckenzie is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Hudson has cracked Mckenzie with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Hudson lands another huge swinging hook and Mckenzie tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Mckenzie, before Hudson can land any more shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Bryan Hudson!
Post fight, Bryan Hudson stared into the camera and said 'I wanna thank my opponent. What a true badass! Win, Lose, or Draw I come to fight!'.
