Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Joey Japan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Deniz Koc (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Joey Japan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Deniz Koc!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Luis Engracia and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Japan closes the distance and clinches up with Koc, looking for a takedown. Japan pushes Koc against the cage but Koc circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Japan misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Japan shoots in but no luck this time.
The fight stays on the outside here - Koc looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Japan lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Koc at a distance.
Koc looks to throw the jab but Japan is out of range.
Japan throws a series of punches but Koc moves out of range.
Japan fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joey Japan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Japan.
Koc dodges the punch combination from Japan.
A leg kick checked by Koc.
Japan tries for a takedown but Koc sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Donk. Koc catches Japan right on the button with a cross.
Japan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Japan fails to land the takedown.
Japan misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Japan is breathing heavily.
Japan misses with an attempted mid kick.
Japan throws a right and a left that Koc avoids nicely.
A head kick misses from Koc.
Joey Japan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Koc dodges the punch combination from Japan.
Japan tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Koc gets a clinch.
Japan can't get the takedown.

Koc wants the takedown. Japan is fighting it off but Koc persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Japan's guard against the cage.
Koc not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Koc cracks Japan with a solid left hand.
Koc advances to half guard.
Koc not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Koc working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Koc controlling the pace.
Koc seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Japan does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Koc is trying to work for a kimura but Japan is defending well.

Koc tries to pass the half guard into mount. Japan knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Koc thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Japan's head.
Koc content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Koc passes to side control.
Koc has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Japan!
Japan tries to reverse the position but Koc maintains control.
Japan is squirming around, avoiding Koc's attempts to control the action.

Koc avoids the attempt from Japan to control.
Japan can't escape the position.
Japan is working hard here to advance position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Koc controlling from mount.
Japan is looking to improve his position but Koc isn't that keen on the idea.

Koc quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Koc but it's paid off an Japan is forced to tap! Nice work by Koc.
