The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Finley swings for the body but Jonhson moves out of range.
A combination from Finley does no damage.
Finley shoots in but no luck this time.
A punch combination from Finley misses.
A looping hook to the body misses from Jonhson. Finley does a little dance to reset his feet.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Jonhson.
Jonhson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jonhson wants it to stay on the feet.
Jonhson throws a body punch but Finley moves out of range.
Jonhson throws a head kick that misses.
A looping hook to the body misses from Finley. Jonhson does a little dance to reset his feet.
Finley lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jonhson circles away quickly and effectively.
Finley fails to land with a series of punches.
Finley throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Jonhson thuds his right hand into Finley's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Jeff Jonhson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jonhson bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Finley's head.
Jonhson connects with a right hand. Finley shakes it off.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Finley misses with an uppercut. Jonhson saw that one coming.
A thudding body kick lands there by Jonhson!
Finley shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jonhson as he jumps to the side.
Jonhson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Finley circles away quickly and effectively.

Jonhson lands a big head kick that sends Finley tumbling to the mat! Jonhson takes a step backwards and waves Finley back to his feet - he wants the finish!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Finley fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Finley blocks the body kick.
Finley connects with a leg kick. Jonhson looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Finley looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Finley looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Jonhson moves into full guard.
Jonhson is controlling Finley's posture.
Finley working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Jonhson's head.

Jonhson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jonhson uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Jonhson throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Finley.

Finley won't allow Jonhson to get back to his feet.
Finley loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Finley postures up in Jonhson's guard and throws a big left but Jonhson blocks it.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Finley throws an elbow that misses. Jonhson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Finley's guard. Nice move by Jonhson!

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Jonhson doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Finley.

Jonhson gets tackled into the cage by Finley. Finley maintains the clinch.
Finley blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Jonhson gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Finley.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Jonhson creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Jonhson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Finley tries for a takedown but Jonhson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Jonhson goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Finley is rocked!
Jonhson cracks Finley's jaw with two stiff jabs then ducks low and throws a soul-severing right uppercut to the mouth!! Finley slumps to the ground with blood on his lips. The referee steps in before Jonhson can do further damage! This one is done, son!
