Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Peter Berg!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Randy Bazberton!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Aleksandr Martynov and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Berg cracks a nice hook into Bazberton's ribs.

Bazberton gets a clinch.
Bazberton drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Berg gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Berg manages to break the clinch.
Bazberton circles away from the clinch attempt.
Bazberton keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Berg tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bazberton swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Bazberton fails in his attempt to clinch.
Berg misses with a double jab.

Bazberton wants to break the clinch but can't.
Bazberton is pushing Berg up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Bazberton is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Berg jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Bazberton walks away with a smile on his face. Berg gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Berg is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

and Berg counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Some wild striking there from Berg.

Berg misses with a few strikes there.
Berg tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bazberton sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Berg somewhat.

Bazberton shoots in for a double leg but Berg sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Bazberton fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Bazberton closes the distance but Berg moves to the side

and Berg counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Berg.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Bazberton has his hands on Berg's head, controlling the position.
Bazberton not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Randy Bazberton was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Berg darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bazberton wants to get back to his feet.

Berg is looking for a kimura but Bazberton is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Berg to get the leverage.
Berg is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Berg passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Bazberton!

Berg stalks Bazberton and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Bazberton's face. Bazberton staggers backwards, shaken.

and Bazberton counters with a stiff right hand.
Berg moves in looking to clinch but Bazberton pushes him off.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Peter Berg has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Randy Bazberton.
Bazberton takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

and Bazberton counters with a straight right hand.

Bazberton tries to bench press Berg off him but Berg keeps the position.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Berg, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
