PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Matsufubu Rofuru (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Lashley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rofuru comes into the arena with Tetsuya Komuro - Speed 2 blaring out of the sound system. Lashley comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Dominator kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rofuru fails with a takedown attempt.
Lashley tries to clinch there but Rofuru circles away.

Rofuru shoots in but no luck this time.

Rofuru darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Rofuru is just content to waste time from the top position. Lashley takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Lashley wants to get back to his feet but Rofuru is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Rofuru looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Lashley with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Lashley is squirming around, avoiding Rofuru's attempts to control the action.
Rofuru postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Lashley looks a forlorn figure.

Rofuru shoots in but no luck this time.
Rofuru ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lashley moves away.

Rofuru throws a right and a left that both miss.

Lashley shoots for a takedown but Rofuru saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Matsufubu Rofuru has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bobby Lashley.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rofuru shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Lashley's guard.
Lashley is breathing heavily.
Rofuru is in close to Lashley's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Rofuru drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Lashley manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Rofuru has Lashley in his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rofuru working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lashley doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lashley manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
