The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ware swings for the body but Zangief moves out of range.
No luck for Zangief with that takedown attempt.

Zangief cracks Ware with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Zangief jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Ware manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Zangief takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Zangief feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

That was a close round but I would say that Zangief Zangief will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Ware throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Zangief stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Ware swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Zangief tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Ware is able to avoid easily.

Ware connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Ware lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Zangief at a distance.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Zangief.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Ware throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ware bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Zangief! He dives into his guard looking to finish!

Ware forces his way into half guard.
Oh Zangief is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Still in half guard, Ware seems content to control.

Ware's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

OK we're going to have a standup here. B A Ware hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Zangief shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ware sprawls well. Ware wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Zangief gets slowly back to his feet.
Zangief throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Some bone on bone action there as Ware checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
