PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Scott Morgan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sean McNamara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McNamara has chosen Massive Attack - Teardrop (House M.D.) as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The key to victory for Scott Morgan has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sean McNamara!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from McNamara does no damage.
Morgan stuffs the takedown.
McNamara shoots in looking for a takedown but Morgan manages to keep the fight standing, pushing McNamara's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
McNamara throws a series of punches but Morgan moves out of range.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Sean McNamara wasn't active enough on the ground.

Morgan throws a right and a left that McNamara avoids nicely.

Morgan throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as McNamara stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Morgan follows into mount!

McNamara seems to have recovered his senses.

McNamara tries to kick Morgan off but Morgan keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

McNamara misses with a few strikes there.

McNamara throws a combination that misses
and Morgan counters with a stiff right hand.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
McNamara will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
McNamara throws a right hand that Morgan ducks under and follows up with a left that Morgan also avoids with ease.
McNamara doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Morgan counters with a leg kick then a big left hand that sends McNamara down! Morgan is looking to finish but McNamara is intelligently defending himself.
McNamara looks winded!

Morgan stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Morgan scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Morgan works the jab nicely.
McNamara will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
McNamara tries to clinch but Morgan moves out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Sean McNamara's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Morgan dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on McNamara. That did some damage!

McNamara swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Morgan cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

McNamara on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
McNamara looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Morgan lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

McNamara has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Morgan.
McNamara is breathing heavily.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
McNamara takes a head kick and keeps coming.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
McNamara takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

Morgan drops his shoulder and cracks McNamara with a huge uppercut! McNamara goes down! Can Morgan finish him?

Morgan decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

McNamara misses with a combination
enabling Morgan to counter with a crisp jab.
Morgan lands with a big right hook that stumbles McNamara - he's out on his feet here! Morgan follows up with another monster hook that separates McNamara from consciousness! McNamara falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Morgan stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:15 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Scott Morgan!
