PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lan Mandragoran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cameron Speed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Speed has chosen Trivium / Shogun as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lan Mandragoran!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Cameron Speed!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Dillan Fox and Gregory Folan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mandragoran fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Speed has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Speed avoids the body shot from Mandragoran.
Speed tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Speed gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Speed misses with a punch on the inside.
Speed tries to work over Mandragoran's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Mandragoran throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Speed's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Speed tries a body shot but Mandragoran blocks it.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Speed.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Mandragoran prevents a body shot from Speed.
Mandragoran looking to stall.
Speed lands a nice uppercut.
Speed stalling against the cage.
Speed taking a breather.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Speed misses with a body punch.

Mandragoran escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Speed tries a head kick but it misses.

Speed drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Speed wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mandragoran keeps working.
Speed works to advance to full mount. Mandragoran defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Speed trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Speed tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Speed is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Mandragoran is forced to tap! Great finish!
