PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Brian Lamar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and jose gonzalez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Lamar might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to War Machine. jose gonzalez is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

gonzalez shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Lamar kicks gonzalez off and gets back to his feet.

gonzalez shoots in and bounces Lamar off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

gonzalez decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
gonzalez shoots for a takedown but Lamar saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
A punch lands to the side of gonzalez 's head but he takes it in his stride.

gonzalez seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lamar is looking for a sweep. gonzalez is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Lamar will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

gonzalez decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Lamar, up you get!
Brian Lamar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
gonzalez tries for a takedown but Lamar sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

gonzalez shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Lamar as he jumps to the side.
Lamar throws out a leg kick but gonzalez moves out of range and Lamar only half commits.
Lamar tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
gonzalez throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lamar's waist but Lamar gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing gonzalez off to one side.

gonzalez looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lamar is fending him off so far but gonzalez persists. Nope, Lamar circles away and we're back to standing.

Lamar gets caught flat footed, as gonzalez shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
gonzalez slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Lamar.
Lamar tries to roll over but gonzalez keeps him under control.

gonzalez has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Lamar is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
gonzalez wants to get back to striking at distance but Lamar won't allow it.
Lamar really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Lamar throws a pinpoint strike between gonzalez's hands that connects right on the jaw and sends gonzalez crashing to the floor! He's out before he even hits the mat and Lamar scores a great knockout victory!
