Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ronaldo Enugo Venugo Montoya!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nikolai Luzhin!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Seu Braga and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Montoya gets caught flat footed, as Luzhin shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Montoya is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Montoya is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Luzhin wants to get up but he can't break Montoya's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Montoya is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Luzhin stands up from Montoya's guard - Luzhin perhaps looking for a knockout.

Luzhin rushes Montoya and presses him up against the cage.

Both fighters circling a little - Luzhin finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Luzhin connects with a nice looking jab.
Montoya shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Luzhin counters with a big head kick but Montoya shrugs it off.

Luzhin decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Luzhin wants to stand but Montoya has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Montoya is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Montoya manages to get to full guard.

Montoya has his foot on Luzhin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Luzhin works his way back into a safe position though.
Montoya is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Montoya controls Luzhin momentarily but Luzhin frees himself.
Montoya looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Montoya wants to stand and escape but Luzhin is having none of it.

Montoya throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Luzhin escapes and throws Montoya's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Luzhin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Montoya. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Montoya closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Montoya thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Montoya trying to control the position from guard on top but Luzhin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Luzhin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Montoya is one step ahead there.

Montoya drops back looking for a leg! Luzhin is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Luzhin manages to kick Montoya off! Montoya jumps back into Luzhin's guard.

and Luzhin counters with a three punch combo that has Montoya backing up. Montoya nods at Luzhin to acknowledge the strikes.

Montoya walks into a left hand.
Montoya tries for a takedown but Luzhin circles away easily
and Luzhin counters with a nice uppercut.
Luzhin connects with a crisp jab.

Luzhin connects with the punch.
Luzhin tries to bum rush Montoya with a series of wild strikes but Montoya uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Montoya misses with a takedown
and Luzhin counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Montoya tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Luzhin explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.

Ronaldo Enugo Venugo Montoya is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Montoya tries to keep at a distance but Luzhin has taken the fight into the clinch.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Montoya is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Luzhin is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Luzhin can't do much from the bottom here.
Luzhin is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Montoya working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nikolai Luzhin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Luzhin scores with a one two! Montoya had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Luzhin tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Luzhin closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Luzhin fails to land with a series of punches.
Luzhin takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Montoya tries for a takedown but Luzhin circles away easily
and Luzhin counters with a one-two to the body.
Luzhin swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Luzhin lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Montoya backs up against the cage.
Luzhin throws a head kick but Montoya moves out of range.
Luzhin has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Luzhin throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Montoya drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Luzhin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Montoya fails with the takedown
and Luzhin connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Luzhin misses with a two punch combination.

Montoya closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Montoya thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Luzhin wants to control but Montoya postures up.
Montoya passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Luzhin!

Ronaldo Enugo Venugo Montoya overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Montoya throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Luzhin has his hands clasped together but Montoya breaks the hold and Luzhin is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Montoya!
