The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hunt attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Vormisto wants to clinch.

Vormisto throws out a loose jab but Hunt uses good head movement to avoid it.
Vormisto misses the shot to the body.
Vormisto misses with a two punch combination.
Hunt throws a looping overhand right but Vormisto ducks down to avoid it.
Vormisto throws an overhand right that lands on Hunt's shoulder, as Hunt tries to avoid the shot.
Hunt shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Vormisto as he jumps to the side.
Vormisto thows a body shot but no joy.
No joy there for Vormisto, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Hunt wants to land a leg kick but Vormisto is out of range.
Hunt tries for a takedown but Vormisto sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Vormisto thows a body shot but no joy.
Hunt changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Vormisto tries to avoid it but Hunt manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Vormisto to the ground. Vormisto escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Hunt throws a hook to the side of Vormisto's head but Vormisto sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Hunt is trying to trip Vormisto. He has hold of a leg but Vormisto is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Hunt persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Vormisto wants to hit a switch here but Hunt passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Vormisto there!

Vormisto is bucking up trying to escape but Hunt cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Hunt is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Vormisto can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Vormisto seems to have recovered his senses.

Hunt lands a heavy elbow.
Hunt throws some wild stikes that Vormisto manages to avoid easily.
Hunt pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Hunt trying to control but Vormisto is having none of it.
Hunt postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Vormisto in real trouble here! The ref calls for Vormisto to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!

A relieved looking Merik Hunt thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
