Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mark Murray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keiji Kawada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 1, fighting out of London, Mark Murray!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 1, fighting out of London, Keiji Kawada!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Atkins and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kawada on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Kawada rushes Murray and presses him up against the cage.

Murray's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Murray looks to score with a jab to the body but Kawada is just out of range.
Mark Murray seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Murray connects with a good right hand that stumbles Kawada. Kawada circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
A punch combination from Murray misses.

Kawada darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Murray blocking the ground and pound attempt from Kawada.
Murray looks like he's trying to stand up.
Kawada wants to stand up but Murray is controlling the position.
Kawada tries to pass to full mount but Murray defends it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kawada not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Murray is refusing to be controlled, as Kawada sits in half guard.
Kawada thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Kawada trying to control the action but Murray is working from the bottom.
Kawada prevents Murray from improving his position.

Kawada seems to be looking for submissions.

Kawada trying to work for an americana but Murray has managed to regain full guard.
Kawada looking to sit in guard and control but Murray gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Murray wants to stand but Kawada has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Kawada lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Murray!
Kawada looking to control and managing it successfully.
Murray wants to control but Kawada is having none of it.

Kawada working the ground and pound effectively.
Murray is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Murray really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Kawada trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Kawada working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Murray looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Kawada! Submission of the night perhaps?

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Keiji Kawada!
Keiji Kawada really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that KAISER logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
