The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aanenson gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Thomas holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Thomas lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.

Aanenson tries to pull guard but Thomas holds him up against the cage and eventually Aanenson drops back down to his feet.

Thomas's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

and Thomas counters with a head kick that crumples his opponent - he's in a world of trouble! Thomas looks at the referee who does nothing so Thomas lands a crushing right that sends Aanenson to the floor! This time the ref steps in to end the fight.
