The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva throws a series of punches but Carvalho avoids them all with ease.
Carvalho fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Silva is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Silva goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Carvalho tries to clinch up.
Silva lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Silva.
Silva lands a hook that stumbles Carvalho back into the cage. Silva follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping Carvalho to the canvas! Silva pounces and lands several unanswered shots - Carvalho has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Anderson Silva!
Anderson Silva got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
