PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aaron Archer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Walter Sullivan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Sullivan's choice of entrance music: Akira Yamaoka - Room of Angel. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Aaron Archer!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Walter Sullivan!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Dillan Fox and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Archer dodges the punch combination from Sullivan.
Archer tries for a takedown but Sullivan sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Archer drives through and clinches with Sullivan against the cage.

Sullivan misses with an elbow over the top.
Archer swings wildly with an uppercut but Sullivan uses good head movement to avoid it.
Archer has Sullivan pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Sullivan manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Archer wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sullivan keeps working.

Archer is just content to waste time from the top position. Sullivan takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Sullivan is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Archer is trying to trip Sullivan. He has hold of a leg but Sullivan is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Archer persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Archer with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Archer wants to control from the top but Sullivan keeps moving.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Sullivan gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Archer.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Aaron Archer dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Archer has closed the distance and engaged Sullivan in a clinch.

Sullivan is looking to sinch up a triangle. Archer throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Sullivan's body to avoid the submission. Sullivan has instead reached around Archer's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Sullivan arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Walter Sullivan!

A very excited looking Walter Sullivan rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
