Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Derrick Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Lauzon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Derrick Thomas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Thomas closes the distance and clinches.
Lauzon looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Thomas gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Lauzon is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Thomas is nestled in close to Lauzon, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lauzon is looking for a triangle but Thomas pushes his legs off easily.

Thomas stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lauzon swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Thomas wants to control from the top but Lauzon keeps moving.
Thomas throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Lauzon works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Lauzon shoots for a takedown but Thomas saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Lauzon misses with a takedown attempt - Thomas sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Lauzon tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Thomas swivels and escapes.
Derrick Thomas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Lauzon.

Thomas scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Lauzon moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Lauzon moves in looking to clinch but Thomas pushes him off.
Thomas wants to clinch.
No joy there for Thomas, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Lauzon is looking to chop away at Thomas's legs.
Lauzon missing with a left hand there. Thomas was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Thomas displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lauzon.

Thomas fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Lauzon to the ground. Thomas is now in Lauzon's guard.
Lauzon is breathing heavily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Lauzon pushes a forearm under Thomas's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Thomas is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
