Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Harry Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonathan Hope (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Harry Davis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jonathan Hope!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, William Peck and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis stuffs the takedown.
Good shot there by Davis.
Davis misses with a wild body shot.
Davis bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Hope moves forwards but Davis connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Davis throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hope.
Davis misses with a few strikes there.
Davis throws a sloppy head kick and Hope moves out of range easily.
Davis listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Nice body punch from Davis.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hope closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Hope goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Davis rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Hope's guard! Nice work there by Davis!
Hope looking to hit a scissor sweep but Davis is one step ahead there.
Davis wanted to stand there but Hope had control of the position.

Hope managing to control the position.
Hope has a closed guard, preventing Davis from standing up.
Davis preventing the sweep.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Hope has his foot on Davis's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Davis works his way back into a safe position though.
Hope is trying to keep Davis in close.

Hope is looking for a triangle but Davis pushes his legs off easily.
Hope not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hope can do anything to dispel that myth.
Hope throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Hope escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Davis gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Hope is trying to control the position but Davis postures up.

Davis slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Hope.
Hope keeping control of the position.
Hope works his way to full guard. Good work.

Hope looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Davis has picked Hope up and slammed him! Hope can't keep hold of the triangle and Davis manages to pass to side control!
Hope is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hope flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Hope tries to roll over but Davis keeps him under control.
Davis is thwarting Hope's attempts to control the position.
Davis wants to stand up but Hope is controlling the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hope is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Hope is looking to get back to full guard here but Davis has managed to pass to side control instead.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Harry Davis will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Hope drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Davis will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Davis is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Hope is controlling him.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hope's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Hope missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Jonathan Hope has got the better of the ground game so far.
Hope won't allow Davis to get back to his feet.
Davis utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Hope in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Hope with a flurry of punches that miss.
Hope prevents Davis from getting back to his feet.
Hope not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Hope is looking to work some ground and pound but Davis has wrist control.

Davis utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Hope has gone for a leg lock! Davis slips out almost immediately though and dives into Hope's guard.
Hope looking to hit a scissor sweep but Davis is one step ahead there.

Hope has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Davis can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Hope wants to sweep here but Davis controlling him for the moment.

Hope working for submissions but it's allowed Davis to get to half guard.
Hope holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Hope is looking for a sweep. Davis is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Hope trying to control but Davis postures up.
Hope is trying to get back to full guard.
Hope is trying to control but can't.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Davis misses with a two punch combination.
Davis tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Hope is able to avoid easily.
Davis digs a good hook to Hope's body.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Davis cracks Hope with a good jab.
Davis keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Davis misses with a series of wild punches.
Hope walks into a stiff left hand from Davis.

Davis gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Hope to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Davis wants to stand up but Hope is controlling him.
Hope is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Davis keeping moving, preventing Hope from controlling successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jonathan Hope showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!



Hope manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Davis on his heels. He'll look to pass Davis's guard now, I'm sure.

Hope throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Davis wants to stand up but Hope is controlling him.
Hope must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Davis trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Hope trying to control but Davis is working from the bottom.

Hope is in close to Davis's body, working some short punches and elbows.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hope trying to control the position from guard on top but Davis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hope might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Davis kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Hope with a flurry of punches that miss.
Hope loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Hope postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Davis is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Hope throws an elbow that misses. Davis uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hope's guard. Nice move by Davis!

Hope looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Davis has picked Hope up and slammed him! Hope can't keep hold of the triangle and Davis manages to pass to side control!
Hope tries to improve position but can't.
Hope tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
Hope really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Hope is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Hope is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Hope is looking to get to half guard.
Davis wants to get back to his feet but Hope is holding on tight.
Hope tries to hold on but Davis pushes him away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hope working to try and regain half guard.
Hope tries to lock up and control but Davis gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hope tries to get back to half guard but can't.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jonathan Hope comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Hope has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
