Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Omen Deng (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Umberto Duran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Umberto Duran has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Omen Deng's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Omen Deng!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Umberto Duran!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good work by Deng as he checks the leg kick.
Duran fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Deng manages to avoid it.

Deng throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Duran was covering up waiting for the punch and Deng finishes the takedown easily into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Duran wants to sweep but no luck.
Deng loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Deng is looking to work some ground and pound but Duran has wrist control.
Deng not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Deng trying to control the position from guard on top but Duran is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Deng stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Duran swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Deng distracts Duran with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Deng trying to control but Duran is working from the bottom.
Duran preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Duran is trying to keep Deng in close.
Deng is looking to work some ground and pound but Duran has wrist control.

Duran utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Deng accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Deng postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Duran wants to sweep but no luck.
Deng throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Duran utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Deng working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Duran's head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Deng throws a big right hand that misses.
Deng content to stall in guard here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Deng with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Deng pushing down on Duran's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Deng throwing shots but Duran is blocking nicely.

Duran avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Deng.

Duran really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Deng. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Duran is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Deng takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Duran looks winded!

Deng is nestled in close to Duran, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Deng controlling the pace.
Deng looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Duran with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Deng performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Deng uses his free foot to push down on Duran's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Duran.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Duran takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Omen Deng dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Duran takes a jab right on the kisser.
Deng tests Duran's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Deng blocks the body kick.
Deng ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Duran moves away.
Duran tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Deng was well out of range. Poor timing from Duran.
Deng thows a left - swing and a miss!
A looping hook to the body misses from Deng. Duran does a little dance to reset his feet.
Duran digs a good hook to Deng's body.
Duran throws a solid leg kick but Deng takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Duran.

Deng looking to score a takedown here. Duran is defending well but Deng drives through and ends up in Duran's guard.

Deng cracks Duran with a solid left hand.
Deng lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Duran working a defensive guard but Deng manages to pass into side control anyway.

Duran is breathing heavily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Duran is trying to get back to half guard.
Deng works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Deng creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Deng is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Duran can do to turn this around?
Duran takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Deng is putting a hurting on Duran here, landing some big shots from side control.
Duran is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Deng looks up at the clock and then as Duran takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Deng smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Deng lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Duran down.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Duran can do anything to dispel that myth.
Deng scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Duran to see if he's OK.
Deng is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Duran's shoulder. That is not cool.
Deng in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Deng has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Duran is letting Deng control him for a moment.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
