The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Gracie.

Gracie lands a big shot there that rocks Santos but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Santos really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gracie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Santos tries to hold on but Gracie postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gracie has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Gracie is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Santos. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.

Gracie is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Santos knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Santos for a finish.
