Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Travis Ring (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lax BroMan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lax BroMan is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Travis Ring!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Lax BroMan!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Ren Mimura and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ring tries to clinch up

and BroMan counters with a nice double leg into guard.
BroMan controls from within his opponent's guard.

BroMan avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
BroMan pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ring is keeping the position for now.
Ring can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as BroMan controls the pace.

Lax BroMan has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Ring has a takedown stuffed.
Ring closes the distance but BroMan moves to the side

and BroMan decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Ring's guard.
Ring can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as BroMan controls the pace.

BroMan slips nicely into half guard.
BroMan controlling the pace.
BroMan wants to control but Ring is keeping him busy.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The ref stands the fighters back up. Lax BroMan was stalling too much, according to the referee.
BroMan displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ring.
Travis Ring seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
BroMan shoots in looking for a takedown. Ring tries to sprawl out of it but BroMan keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ring manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Travis Ring. That's going to take a lot out of him.

BroMan seems to be looking for submissions.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Ring punching from the bottom.
BroMan frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

BroMan wants to control but Ring has made it back to half guard. Nice work.
BroMan content to control rather than advance.
This has been an exciting period of action!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Ring tries to score a power double leg takedown but BroMan sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ring somewhat.
Ring throws a head kick that misses.
Nice sprawl there from Ring as BroMan shoots in.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

BroMan feints and as Ring raises his hands in defense, BroMan changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
BroMan is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Ring is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst BroMan is controlling him.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Lax BroMan wasn't active enough on the ground.

BroMan drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
BroMan controls from within his opponent's guard.

Ring keeping moving, preventing BroMan from controlling successfully.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Lax BroMan has got the better of the ground game so far.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Lax BroMan was stalling too much, according to the referee.
BroMan takes a head kick and keeps coming.


It looks like Lax BroMan has been cut.
Ring moves to clinch but BroMan breaks away

and BroMan counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Ring looking for a guillotine here but BroMan defends easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Ring working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. BroMan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. BroMan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

BroMan trying to control the position from guard on top but Ring is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Ring tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but BroMan paws at him with a jab and circles away.
BroMan blocks a head kick by Ring.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lax BroMan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Ring looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Ring shoots in looking for a takedown. BroMan tries to sprawl out of it but Ring keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. BroMan manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Ring moves out of range as BroMan strikes.

BroMan drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Ring is not content to let BroMan control the position.

BroMan staying calm.
Ring wants to control but BroMan postures up.
BroMan trying to control the action but Ring is working from the bottom.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Travis Ring has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Lax BroMan has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
BroMan throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Ring tries to close the distance and clinch but BroMan swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Ring gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
BroMan postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Ring had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. BroMan defends it easily.

BroMan decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

BroMan shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ring's guard.

Ring keeping moving, preventing BroMan from controlling successfully.
Lax BroMan is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
BroMan has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
BroMan is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Lax BroMan wasn't active enough on the ground.

Ring gets caught flat footed, as BroMan shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

BroMan stands up and waves to Ring to follow him.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

BroMan is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Ring's half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Lax BroMan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got BroMan winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
