The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Williams takes the fight into the clinch.
Carlson goes for a takedown attempt but Williams pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

The crowd cheers as Williams lands an impressive looking overhand right. Carlson doesn't seem phased though.
A punch lands to the side of Carlson 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Williams throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Carlson on the side of the head.
Williams throws out a powerful jab.
Williams jabs Carlson to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Williams's corner calls for a 1-2. Williams obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Carlson takes one on the button.
Williams throws a looping overhand right but Carlson ducks down to avoid it.

Williams lands a lovely overhand right.
Carlson closes the distance and clinches up with Williams, looking for a takedown. Carlson pushes Williams against the cage but Williams circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Williams is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Carlson had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Williams lands with an uppercut that bounces Carlson off the cage and back into range.
Williams throws a shot from downtown. Carlson moves away and avoids it.
A telegraphed right hand from Williams misses the target.
Carlson takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Carlson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Williams throws out a loose jab but Carlson uses good head movement to avoid it.
