Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Evora (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcos Garza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Evora comes to the cage accompanied by D.A.D. - Bad Craziness. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Carlos Evora!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Marcos Garza!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Patrick Alders and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Evora drives through with a takedown into guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Garza wants to sweep here but Evora controlling him for the moment.
Evora trying to control but Garza is working from the bottom.
Evora distracts Garza with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Evora is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Garza really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Evora. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Carlos Evora.

Marcos Garza is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Garza lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Evora circles away quickly and effectively.

Garza throws a series of punches but Evora moves out of range.

Evora drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Evora is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Garza defends it well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Evora works his foot free and advances to mount.

Evora has hold of Garza's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Garza manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Evora looking to ground and pound but Garza is blocking nicely.

Garza is trying desperately to improve position.

Evora is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Garza to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Garza shrugs it off.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Evora wants to control the pace but Garza is squirming around nicely.

Evora really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Evora cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Evora is landing with some decent strikes but Garza is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Garza is squirming around, avoiding Evora's attempts to control the action.
Evora is really struggling to control Garza but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Evora trying to control but Garza is having none of it.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Garza throws a leg kick but Evora sees it coming and moves out of range.

Garza lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Evora circles away quickly and effectively.
Garza throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Evora.
Garza swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Garza pivots, looking for a leg kick but Evora is out of range and Garza settles back down.
Garza misses with a body shot.
Garza throws a right hand that Evora ducks under and follows up with a left that Evora also avoids with ease.
Marcos Garza seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Evora shoots for a double leg takedown but Garza sprawls well. He's pushed Evora's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Garza misses with a low kick.
Garza scores with a jab to the body.
Evora shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Evora keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Garza throws a low kick but Evora moves out of range easily.

Evora takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Evora.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carlos Evora. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Evora is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Evora shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Garza napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Carlos Evora overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Evora has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Evora postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Evora looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Garza manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Evora is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Garza's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Garza's back!
Evora lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Evora.
Evora is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
Garza tries to roll but Evora sticks to his back.
Garza looking very determined here, making life difficult for Evora.

Evora patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?
Garza can't escape the position.

Evora is working for a rear naked choke. Garza is not defending it well and Evora has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Garza refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Garza's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Carlos Evora!
