Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joel Zimmerman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Crack Head (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zimmerman's entrance music is The Veldt. A fine choice. Crack Head has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joel Zimmerman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Crack Head!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Gregory Folan and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Zimmerman gets caught napping as Head dives in and scores a takedown. Zimmerman manages to retain guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Zimmerman working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Head doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Head manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Head stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Zimmerman swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Head drops back looking for a leg! Zimmerman is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Zimmerman manages to kick Head off! Head jumps back into Zimmerman's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Head blocks the strikes from Zimmerman.
Zimmerman is staying active underneath Head, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Zimmerman has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Head is working away from the top position though.

Head is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Zimmerman manages to reverse the position and now he's in Head's guard. Nice work there by Zimmerman.

Head lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Zimmerman!
Head prevents Zimmerman from getting the reversal.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Head throwing strikes here but Zimmerman is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Head is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Zimmerman knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Zimmerman for a finish.

Zimmerman throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Head fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Zimmerman sprawls well initially but Head persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Head has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Zimmerman is in all sorts of trouble here.

Head wants to lay and pray for a moment but Zimmerman keeps working.

Zimmerman is trying to escape the mount.
Zimmerman sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Head is looking to advance position but Zimmerman won't allow it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Head is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Zimmerman doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Head.
Head works his foot free and advances to mount.

Zimmerman is wriggling around trying to escape.

Head has hold of Zimmerman's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Zimmerman manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Head jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Zimmerman manages to avoid the submission attempt.

That's time! Zimmerman's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Head is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Zimmerman is just riding it out for now. Head eventually gives up the hold.

Head goes for a risky armbar from back mount and it's not paid off. Zimmerman escapes and is now in half guard on top.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Zimmerman lands a nice short elbow.
Head wants to control but Zimmerman passes into side.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Zimmerman lands a nice forearm strike.
Zimmerman looks up at the clock and then as Head takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Zimmerman smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

And that's the end of the fight!
Crack Head comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Head has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
