The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carlson looks for a takedown but Po sprawls well.

Po closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Carlson goes for a takedown attempt but Po pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Nice uppercut lands for Po. That snapped Carlson's head back.
Po lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

and Po counters with a straight right hand.

Carlson misses with a takedown attempt - Po sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Po throws a lazy right hand but Carlson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Po prevents the takedown attempt.

Po lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

Po lands a hook that snaps the head of Carlson backwards.
With the fighters up against the cage, Po throws an elbow but misses.

Po escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Po goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Po uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Carlson has time to react.

Po lands a right hand that snaps the head of Carlson backwards.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Carlson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Po sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Carlson somewhat.

It looks like Steve Carlson has been cut.
Carlson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Carlson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Carlson on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Carlson gets tackled into the cage by Po. Po maintains the clinch.
Po throws a knee to the head but misses.

Po breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Carlson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Po lands a big head kick that sends Carlson tumbling to the mat! Po takes a step backwards and waves Carlson back to his feet - he wants the finish!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Carlson seems to have got his legs back now.
Po scores with a nice hook to the head.

Carlson blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Lazarus Po seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.

Po lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Carlson backwards.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Po.
Po working the clinch nicely. Carlson is working for position but Po cracks him with a big knee to the head! Carlson crumples up against the cage and Po lands two more shots before the ref can save Carlson! This one is all over!
