Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ricardo Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyron Tyson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alvarez comes to the cage accompanied by Daddy Yankee - Gasolina. Tyron Tyson will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ricardo Alvarez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tyron Tyson!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez shoots for a takedown but Tyson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Tyson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Alvarez sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Alvarez regains full guard. Nicely done.
Tyson trying to control but Alvarez is working from the bottom.
Alvarez is pulling down on Tyson's head. It's preventing any offense from Tyson, at least for the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Alvarez looking to hit a scissor sweep but Tyson is one step ahead there.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Tyron Tyson wasn't active enough on the ground.
Alvarez keeps the fight on the outside.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Alvarez shoots for a double leg takedown but Tyson sprawls well. He's pushed Alvarez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Tyson shoots in and drives through. Alvarez sprawls well.
Tyson fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Alvarez looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Sloppy strikes from Tyson. Those never looked like landing.
Alvarez tries to score a power double leg takedown but Tyson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Alvarez somewhat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ricardo Alvarez. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Horrible takedown by Alvarez or perhaps it was just good defense by Tyson which made him look bad.

Tyron Tyson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Tyson shoots in but Alvarez avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Tyson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Alvarez tries to avoid it but Tyson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Alvarez to the ground. Alvarez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Alvarez shoots in for a takedown but Tyson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Alvarez shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Tyson sprawls well. Tyson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Alvarez gets slowly back to his feet.
Tyson tries to clinch up but Alvarez circles away and keeps his distance.

Alvarez avoids the head kick by Tyson.
Tyson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Tyson drives through with a takedown into Alvarez's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Tyson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Alvarez defends it easily.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Tyson can do anything to dispel that myth.
Alvarez postures up and lands a big shot to Tyson's brow.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close round but I would say that Ricardo Alvarez will probably get the nod.

That's time! Alvarez's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Tyson doesn't manage to clinch there - Alvarez circles away.
Tyson tries to land a front kick but Alvarez steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Tyson throws a head kick but Alvarez moves out of range.
Tyson leaves Alvarez with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Tyson bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Tyson throws a sloppy head kick and Alvarez moves out of range easily.

Alvarez fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Tyson avoids it really well and circles away.
Tyson cracks Alvarez with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Tyson closes the distance and clinches.

Alvarez drops an elbow to the side of Tyson's head.
Nice strikes from Alvarez there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Alvarez takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Alvarez landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Alvarez lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Tyson quite badly. Tyson pulls Alvarez in close trying to recover. Alvarez postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Tyson on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Tyson doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ricardo Alvarez!
Ricardo Alvarez decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
