Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mark Coleman Jr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Javier Pena!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Bruno Lombardi and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pena avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
A slow jab from Pena misses its intended target.
Pena will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Pena looks to throw the jab but Coleman Jr is out of range.
Coleman Jr with a poor takedown
and Pena counters with a three punch combo that has Coleman Jr backing up. Coleman Jr nods at Pena to acknowledge the strikes.
Nice sprawl there from Pena as Coleman Jr shoots in.
Coleman Jr shoots in for a takedown but Pena shows good takedown defense.

Pena tries to bum rush Coleman Jr with a series of wild strikes but Coleman Jr uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Pena looks to land a left hand but Coleman Jr moved out of range nicely.

Coleman Jr throws a hook to the side of Pena's head but Pena sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Pena stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Pena wants it to stay on the feet.

Pena might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Pena feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Coleman Jrs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Pena paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Javier Pena decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
