Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Terrence Mills!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gunner jabs Mills to the body, keeping him at a distance.
A big right from Mills misses.

and Gunner counters with a lovely straight right hand!

and Gunner counters with a takedown into side control.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gunner looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Gunner wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mills, who protects the arm well.
Mills trying to remain calm as Gunner controls from the top position.

Gunner tries to advance to mount but Mills denies him.
Mills tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Gunner advances nicely into full mount.

Gunner unloads with some shots from mount but Mills bucks and avoids them well.
Gunner tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Mills is bucking up trying to escape but Gunner cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Gunner looking to control and managing it successfully.
Mills is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Mills in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.

Gunner postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Mills looks a forlorn figure.

Gunner jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Mills manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Gunner content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Gunner might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Gunner is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Gunner has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Hawk Gunner just wasn't active enough.
Mills misses with an uppercut
and Gunner counters with a right hand to the body.
Mills on the wrong end of a nice jab.

Mills is breathing heavily.

Mills is rocked!
Gunner slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Mills is still in real trouble! Can Gunner finish him?
Mills seems to have recovered his senses.
Gunner is pushing down on Mills's leg trying to pass to half guard. Mills is fighting to maintain full guard but Gunner has managed to sneak the leg through.

Well, if Gunner is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Gunner is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Mills defends it well.
Gunner is taking a breather. Mills says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Gunner is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Mills can do to turn this around?
Gunner not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Gunner seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Gunner frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Gunner lands a nice shot to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Mills looks up at the clock. Bad move! Gunner lands a right hand from hell, dropping Mills. Gunner pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hawk Gunner!
A relieved looking Hawk Gunner thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
