The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Daley tries for a takedown but Rus sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Daley fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Rus has managed to clinch.
Rus tries a knee to the head but Daley blocks it.
Rus is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Daley tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Rus just stands there and leans against the cage.
Kix Rus has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Daley.
Rus tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Rus with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Daley wants a takedown but no success here.
Rus tries a knee to the head but Daley blocks it.
Daley has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Rus avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rus stops a takedown attempt from Daley.
Rus with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Rus misses with a knee strike.
Daley on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Daley drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Rus gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Daley tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Rus pressing his opponent against the cage.
Rus is looking to control Daley's arms but Daley gets an underhook and turns him. Now Rus has his back to the cage.
Rus stalls.

Daley ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Daley no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Daley controls Rus momentarily but Rus frees himself.
Rus wants to stand but Daley is controlling his posture from full guard.

Daley has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rus can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Daley looks gassed!

Rus tries to stand but Daley is controlling from the bottom.
Rus trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Rus trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Daley is looking for a triangle but Rus pushes his legs off easily.

Daley has his foot on Rus's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rus works his way back into a safe position though.
Rus really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Rus wants to get up but he can't break Daley's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Daley is on top in guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Daley advances to half guard.

Rus actively working from the bottom here.
Rus wants to improve his position but Daley is controlling well.
Daley uses his free foot to push down on Rus's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Rus.

Daley has isolated one of Rus's arms. Rus looking to fight him off but Daley twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
