Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Anderson Carvalho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pitagoras Euclides (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anderson Carvalho!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pitagoras Euclides!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Matheus Silva and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Euclides shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Carvalho is trying to defend but Euclides finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Euclides is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Carvalho doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Euclides.
Carvalho wants to get back to full guard.

Carvalho looking for submissions off his back.

Euclides is trying to work for a kimura but Carvalho is defending well.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Carvalho is on top in guard.

Carvalho is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Euclides is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Euclides looking to hit a scissor sweep but Carvalho is one step ahead there.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Pitagoras Euclides hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Euclides shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Euclides showed some decent athleticism there.

Euclides is looking for a kimura but Carvalho is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Euclides to get the leverage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Euclides is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Euclides looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Carvalho has his foot on Euclides's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Euclides works his way back into a safe position though.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Carvalho had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Euclides defends it easily.

Euclides thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Euclides drives through with a takedown into Carvalho's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Euclides drops back looking for a leg! Carvalho is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Carvalho manages to kick Euclides off! Euclides jumps back into Carvalho's guard.

Carvalho has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Euclides can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Euclides drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Euclides jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Carvalho working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Euclides doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Euclides manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Carvalho is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Euclides rolls with it to try and escape but Carvalho cranks on the arm and Euclides is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
