The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Palhares walks into a stiff left hand from Lawal.
Palhares shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
letting Lawal counter with a right hand.
Lawal connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Palhares momentarily.
Lawal leaves Palhares with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Palhares.

Palhares shoots in and drives through. Lawal sprawls well.

Lawal keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Lawal thuds his right hand into Palhares's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Lawal cracks Palhares with a good jab.
Lawal is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Lawal clobbers Palhares with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Lawal has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Palhares misses with a takedown attempt
and Lawal counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Palhares thinking.

Lawal works the jab nicely.
Oh Palhares is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Lawal closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Palhares! Lawal dives in looking to finish! Palhares is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
