Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bad Omen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kai Deter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bad Omen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kai Deter!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Damien Edna and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Omen fails in his attempt to clinch.
Deter will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Deter closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Omen tries for a takedown but Deter manages to get underhooks.
Deter wants to stall.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Deter takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Omen misses with a hook from the clinch.
Deter gets underhooks to prevent Omen's takedown attempt.
Deter pulls guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Omen looking to sit in guard and control but Deter gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Deter would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Deter trying to control but Omen is working from the bottom.
Deter trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Deter looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Deter is looking to stand up but Omen won't let him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Kai Deter.
Deter tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Kai Deter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Omen closes the distance and clinches up with Deter, looking for a takedown. Omen pushes Deter against the cage but Deter circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bad Omen. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Deter shoots in for a takedown but Omen shows good takedown defense.
Omen takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Deter with a poor takedown
and Omen counters with a shoot takedown. Deter fights it but they end up in guard.
Omen postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Deter is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Omen, into his guard.
Deter wants to control from the top but Omen keeps moving.
Omen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Deter on the ground.

Omen seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Omen really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Deter wanted to stand there but Omen had control of the position.
Deter tries to free his leg and advance position but Omen is retaining full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Omen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Deter rushes Omen and presses him up against the cage.
Deter gets underhooks to prevent Omen's takedown attempt.
Omen goes for a takedown attempt but Deter pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Deter swats away the attempt to clinch by Omen.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Omen gets a double leg takedown into Deter's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Kai Deter will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!
Deter tries to close the distance and clinch but Omen swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Deter dives in and grabs Omen's left leg, looking for a takedown. Omen pushes down on Deter's head and hops out.
Nice takedown defense from Deter. No joy for Omen on that attempt.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Deter is defended easily by Omen.
Deter shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Omen counters with a single leg into guard. Deter didn't expect that.
Bad Omen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kai Deter.
Omen trying to control but Deter is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Omen advances position into side control!
Deter wants to control but Omen postures up.
Omen tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Deter dodges the ground and pound from Omen.
Omen is trying to get an arm triangle but Deter is defending well.
Omen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Deter keeps working.
Deter avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Omen.
Deter wants to control but Omen postures up.
Deter manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Omen is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Deter is pressing down on Omen's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Omen trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Omen is working hard here to advance position.
Omen looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Omen advances to half guard.
Omen is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Deter is just riding it out for now. Omen eventually gives up the hold.
Omen prevents Deter from improving his position.

Omen is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Deter defends it well.
Deter is in trouble now - Omen has advanced to mount!
Omen moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Deter has worked his arm free - good work by Deter!
Deter is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Deter sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Deter wants to get back to his feet.
Deter makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Deter.
Omen postures up in Deter's guard and throws a big left but Deter blocks it.
Omen is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Deter is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Deter has escaped and now he's on top!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bad Omen dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Deter fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Omen will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Deter escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Omen gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Omen forces his way into half guard.
Omen stalling away here and it's allowed Deter to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Omen passes into half guard.
Omen wants to stand up but Deter manages to regain full guard.
Omen has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Omen is looking to work some ground and pound but Deter has wrist control.
Deter preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Deter is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Deter not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Omen tries to free his leg and advance position but Deter is retaining full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Deter fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
No luck for Deter with that takedown attempt.
Deter takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Omen fails with the takedown.
Deter is trying hard to land a takedown here. Omen sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Omen tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Deter manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Omen moves in looking to clinch but Deter pushes him off.
Deter throws a sloppy head kick and Omen moves out of range easily.
