Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alan Oro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Francis Drake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Alan Oro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Francis Drake!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Steven Brown and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drake tries to clinch up but Oro circles away and keeps his distance.
Drake is looking to clinch but Oro is avoiding it.

Drake closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Drake lands in his opponent's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Oro has his foot on Drake's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Drake works his way back into a safe position though.
Drake pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Oro is keeping the position for now.
Drake sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Oro's guard.
Oro is looking for a sweep. Drake is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Oro tries to kick Drake off but Drake keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Oro is staying active underneath Drake, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Drake not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Oro looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Drake seems to be looking for submissions.

Oro actively working from the bottom here.
The fighters are battling for position here. Oro manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Drake keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Oro's head.
Drake really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Oro. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Drake trying to control the position from guard on top but Oro is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Oro isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Drake stacks Oro on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Drake!

Drake wants to lay and pray for a moment but Oro keeps working.
Drake cracks Oro with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Oro wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Drake trying to control the position but Oro is working away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Oro tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Drake is looking to take a break and control but Oro is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Oro is looking for a sweep.

Drake looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Drake landing a few strikes.
Drake trying to control the action but Oro is working from the bottom.

Drake is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Oro has escaped the position, nice work there.
Oro manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Oro is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Drake is just riding it out for now. Oro eventually gives up the hold.

Oro is working for a kimura but Drake is defending it quite comfortably.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Drake is looking for a sweep. Oro is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Francis Drake will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Oro lands with a shot to the body.
Drake is looking to clinch but Oro is avoiding it.
Drake tries to clinch there but Oro circles away.
Oro chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Oro scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Drake shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Oro but Oro pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Some wild striking there from Drake.
A solid leg kick lands there for Oro.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Oro scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

Oro connects with an inside leg kick.
Drake is breathing heavily.
Oro lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Oro avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Alan Oro is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Drake is rocked!
Oro scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Drake doesn't seem bothered though.

Drake tries to clinch but Oro moves away
and Oro counters with a stiff right hand.
Drake is still on wobbly legs! Can Oro finish him?
A chopping leg kick lands by Oro.
Whack! Oro lands a heavy head kick that drops Drake. The ref tackles Oro to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Drake was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:13 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Alan Oro!
