Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Wladimir Putin!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Daniel Blasius and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Putin tries for a takedown but Reem circles away easily
and Reem counters with a thumping low kick.
Putin looks for a takedown but Reem sprawls well.
No joy there for Putin, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Putin with a lazy takedown attempt
and Reem counters with an outside leg kick.
Melvin Reem has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wladimir Putin.
Putin connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Putin misses with a takedown attempt
and Reem counters with a low kick, right behind Putin 's knee.
Wladimir Putin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Putin looks winded!
Reem lands a body shot.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Putin gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Reem slips a jab and a cross from Putin.
Reem misses with a head kick.
Putin is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Reem.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Reem lands a left and a right that send Putin crashing to the mat, dazed. Reem thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Putin is rocked!
It looks like Wladimir Putin has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Reem lands an uppercut, right on the button! Putin tumbles backwards into the ropes, staring vacantly into space! He's got no idea where he is, who he is or what day it is... Poor guy.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:14 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Melvin Reem!
After the fight, Melvin Reem was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
