Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Edmundo Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nathan Redmond (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nathan Redmond has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Edmundo Jr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nathan Redmond!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Mauricio Rocha and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jr displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Redmond.
Redmond fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Jr slips a jab and a cross from Redmond.
Jr keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Redmond.
Jr fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Redmond looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jr is fending him off so far but Redmond persists. Nope, Jr circles away and we're back to standing.
Redmond stuffs the takedown attempt from Jr. Jr gets slowly back to his feet.

Jr looks for a takedown but Redmond sprawls well.

Redmond doesn't manage to clinch there - Jr circles away.
Redmond throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Jr closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Redmond is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Jr pulls his head out easily.
Jr throws a strike but Redmond avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Jr distracts Redmond with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Redmond is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Redmond must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Jr wants to stand up but Redmond is controlling him.

Jr is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Redmond is controlling him.

Jr has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Jr pulls Redmond in close to prevent any damage.
Jr wants to get back to his feet but Redmond is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Edmundo Jr.

Jr drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Jr stands up over Redmond, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jr loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Redmond keeping full guard, as Jr tries to pass.
Jr won't allow Redmond to sweep him here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Edmundo Jr dominated that round.
That's time! Jr's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

and Redmond counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Jr's guard now.

Redmond wants to pass the guard but Jr is keeping the position.
Redmond postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Jr pushes Redmond off and gets back to his feet.

Jr has his takedown stuffed
and Redmond counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Jr thowing shots but they're missing.
Redmond can't escape the position.
Jr lands a big shot there that rocks Redmond but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.


Redmond is rocked!
Oooooh, big shot lands for Jr! Redmond is hurt baaadly! Jr is firing away with more strikes - Redmond is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Edmundo Jr!
Edmundo Jr was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
