Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Eryk Bartnik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miguel Fernandes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fernandes has chosen Igor Melotto as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Eryk Bartnik!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Miguel Fernandes!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Valeri Chadov and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fernandes shoots in and drives through. Bartnik sprawls well.
Bartnik swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Fernandes dodges the punch combination from Bartnik.
Fernandes fails with a takedown attempt.

Fernandes looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Bartnik!
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Bartnik is in all sorts of trouble here.

Fernandes goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Bartnik turns into him and now he's in Fernandes's guard.

Bartnik avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Bartnik trying to control but Fernandes is working from the bottom.
Fernandes pulls Bartnik in close to his closed guard and prevents Bartnik from doing any damage or advancing position.
Fernandes looking for a sweep. Not yet Fernandes, not yet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Bartnik wants to get up but he can't break Fernandes's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

We're going to have a standup here because Eryk Bartnik wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Bartnik thuds his shin into the meat of Fernandes's side.
Bartnik tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Bartnik drops Fernandes with a beautiful combination! Fernandes stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Bartnik is looking for the KO!

Fernandes throws a front kick that sends Bartnik stumbling back into the cage.
Bartnik throws a nice looking combination but Fernandes bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Fernandes shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Fernandes showed some decent athleticism there.
Bartnik is looking to escape.
Fernandes is just content to waste time from the top position. Bartnik takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Fernandes trying to control but Bartnik is working from the bottom.

Bartnik looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Fernandes passes into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fernandes stops Bartnik from getting back to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Bartnik shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Bartnik misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Fernandes leaves Bartnik with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Fernandes closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Fernandes decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Bartnik feints a jab promting Fernandes to slip. Bartnik then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Fernandes slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Fernandes shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bartnik pinned against the cage. Bartnik gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Bartnik lands a left and a right that send Fernandes crashing to the mat, dazed. Bartnik thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Fernandes is still on wobbly legs! Can Bartnik finish him?
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bartnik lands a nice hook to Fernandes's body. Fernandes takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Fernandes seems to have recovered his senses.
Fernandes shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bartnik pinned against the cage. Bartnik gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Fernandes is breathing heavily.
Bartnik lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

Fernandes shoots in but Bartnik avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Eryk Bartnik has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Miguel Fernandes.

Oooooh!!! Bartnik has knocked Fernandes down with a huge combo! Bartnik steps away and waves a wobbly Fernandes back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Fernandes fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bartnik avoids it really well and circles away.
Bartnik swats away the attempt to clinch by Fernandes.
Bartnik lands a right hook to the body.

Bartnik misses with a double jab.
Fernandes feints and then cracks Bartnik's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Bartnik down.
Bartnik misses with a wild combination.
Fernandes shoots in for a takedown but Bartnik shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Bartnik lands a left and a right that send Fernandes crashing to the mat, dazed. Bartnik thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bartnik lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Fernandes circles away quickly and effectively.
Fernandes tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bartnik paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Eryk Bartnik is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Fernandes scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Bartnik pushes Fernandes off looking to stand but Fernandes dives back in and keeps control.

Bartnik makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Miguel Fernandes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bartnik fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Fernandes avoids it really well and circles away.
Bartnik shoots for a double leg takedown but Fernandes sprawls well. He's pushed Bartnik's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Fernandes goes for a takedown attempt but Bartnik pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Eryk Bartnik has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Miguel Fernandes.
Bartnik will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Fernandes has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Fernandes tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Bartnik swivels and escapes.
Fernandes takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Bartnik wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

Fernandes swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Bartnik is now in Fernandes's guard. A big mistake from Fernandes there, giving up the dominant position!
Miguel Fernandes has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Eryk Bartnik is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Fernandes is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

I would just about give that final round to Miguel Fernandes.
