Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Cody Duncan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Gudo Gray!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Johanna Lukiainen and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gray clinches up against the cage.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Gray just misses with a elbow thrown towards Duncan's brow.
Gray jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Duncan walks away with a smile on his face. Gray gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Gray avoids a punch combination nicely.
Duncan looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Gray gets caught napping as Duncan dives in and scores a takedown. Gray manages to retain guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Duncan drops back looking for a leg! Gray is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Gray manages to kick Duncan off! Duncan jumps back into Gray's guard.
Duncan has gone for a leg lock! Gray slips out almost immediately though and dives into Duncan's guard.
Gray stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Duncan throws up his legs and catches Gray in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Gray tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Duncan! That came out of nowhere!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Cody Duncan!
After winning the bout, Cody Duncan thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
