Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Timothy Gabe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Robert Garcia!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Donatello Bradman and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gabe stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gabe wants it to stay on the feet.

Gabe forces Garcia back against the cage and clinches.

Gabe escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Gabe lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Gabe misses with a combination
and Garcia counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Gabe stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gabe wants it to stay on the feet.
Garcia dodges the punch combination from Gabe.
Garcia looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Timothy Gabe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Robert Garcia.
Garcia takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Garcia moves in looking to clinch but Gabe pushes him off.

Timothy Gabe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Gabe shoots in looking for a takedown. Garcia tries to sprawl out of it but Gabe keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Garcia manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Gabe lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Garcia circles away quickly and effectively.
Gabe is breathing heavily.

Gabe fails to land with a series of punches.

Garcia fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Gabe, pushing him back against the cage.
Garcia lands a nice knee to the body.
Gabe can't break the clinch.
Garcia misses with a knee to the head.

Gabe pulls Garcia into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Gabe is looking to stand up but Garcia isn't so interested in that idea.
Garcia trying to control the position from guard on top but Gabe is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Robert Garcia wasn't active enough on the ground.
Gabe throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Garcia counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Garcia shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Gabe sprawls well. Gabe wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Garcia gets slowly back to his feet.

Gabe displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Garcia.

Gabe gets a clinch.
Gabe on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Garcia misses with a knee strike.
Gabe is trying to break the clinch but Garcia has him pressed against the cage.
Gabe digs a right hand underneath Garcia's ribcage. Garcia let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Gabe throws a punch but it's blocked by Garcia.
Gabe jumps guard but Garcia turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Garcia breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Garcia tries a head kick but it misses.
Garcia takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Gabe throws a hook but Garcia avoids it easily.

Garcia takes the fight into the clinch.
Gabe takes a knee right on the jaw!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Garcia pushes off an throws an elbow but Gabe leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Garcia tries to land a knee to the head but Gabe blocks with his arms.
Gabe tries to break free but Garcia pushes him back against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Timothy Gabe will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Gabe closes the distance and pushes Garcia back into the cage.
Garcia unloads a knee to the mid-section. Gabe lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Garcia comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Gabe takes an elbow to the temple.

Gabe gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Gabe escapes and gets back to his feet.
Garcia tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Gabe paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Garcia slips a jab and a cross from Gabe.
Gabe pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
A solid body kick from Garcia.

Garcia takes the fight into the clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Garcia breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Garcia tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Gabe manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Timothy Gabe is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Gabe throws a right hand that Garcia ducks under and follows up with a left that Garcia also avoids with ease.
Gabe throws a series of punches but Garcia avoids them all with ease.
Garcia lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Garcia fails in his attempt to clinch.
Gabe swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Garcia counters with a good, hard body kick but Gabe shrugs it off.
Garcia doesn't manage to clinch there - Gabe circles away.
Garcia tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Gabe paws at him with a jab and circles away.
A head kick from Garcia lands but Gabe takes it in his stride.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The fight stays on the outside here - Garcia looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Oh Gabe is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Garcia drives through with a takedown into guard.

Gabe looking for a sweep. Not yet Gabe, not yet.
Garcia pushes down on Gabe's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Gabe seems to have got his legs back now.
Garcia wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gabe keeps working.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Robert Garcia was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Garcia tries to clinch but Gabe is having none of it.
Gabe circles away from the clinch attempt.
Garcia dodges the punch combination from Gabe.

Garcia rushes Gabe and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Garcia escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Gabe looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Garcia is fending him off so far but Gabe persists. Nope, Garcia circles away and we're back to standing.
Gabe takes a kick to the side of the head.

Garcia drives through with a takedown into Gabe's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Garcia stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gabe swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Robert Garcia showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Garcia misses with a hook. Gabe ducked under it nicely.
Robert Garcia seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Garcia lands a big head kick that sends Gabe tumbling to the mat! Garcia takes a step backwards and waves Gabe back to his feet - he wants the finish!


It looks like Timothy Gabe has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A clash of legs there as Garcia blocks the low kick.
Gabe displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Garcia.
Garcia avoids a punch combination nicely.
Gabe throws a body kick that misses
and Garcia makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Gabe really felt that one!

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Gabe manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Garcia on his heels. He'll look to pass Garcia's guard now, I'm sure.

Garcia pushes Gabe off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Garcia closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Gabe quickly recovers to half guard.

Garcia decides to return to a standing position.
Garcia shoots in looking for a takedown but Gabe manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Garcia's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
A combination from Gabe does no damage.
Gabe jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Garcia shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Gabe but Gabe pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Timothy Gabe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Robert Garcia.
Garcia is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Sloppy strikes from Gabe. Those never looked like landing.
No joy there for Gabe, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Garcia shoots in but no luck this time.
Garcia lands a leg kick that knocks Gabe off balance momentarily.

Garcia gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Gabe to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gabe stops Garcia from standing up.

Gabe wants to stand but Garcia is controlling his posture from full guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Garcia tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
A punch combination from Gabe misses.
Garcia misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Garcia moves out of range of the body kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Garcia throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Gabe's head.
Gabe lands with an uppercut that bounces Garcia off the cage and back into range.
Garcia tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Gabe swivels and escapes.
A slapping body kick lands there for Garcia.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Garcia has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Gabe gets through Garcia's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Garcia's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Gabe will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Garcia closes the distance and clinches.

And that's the end of the fight!
Robert Garcia comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Garcia has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
