PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Enrique Vargas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darth Anakin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vargas kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Animal I Have Become. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anakin avoids a punch combination nicely.
Anakin looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Vargas gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Vargas goes for a takedown attempt but Anakin pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Vargas throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Anakin's waist but Anakin gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Vargas off to one side.

Vargas is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Anakin is just riding it out for now. Vargas eventually gives up the hold.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Vargas seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

I would just about give that final round to Darth Anakin.
Well Vargas has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
